I only saw animals in the Al Areen Wildlife Park. There is nothing but empty desert and oil fields in Bahrain, except fot the "Tree of Life".

Flora

Khimp Grass (Leptadenia pyrotechnica). (1354k)

European Black Nightshade (Solanum nigrum, german: Schwarzer Nachtschatten, french: Morelle noire). (1142k)

Tree of Life. This tree is about 420 years old. It is the only larger tree in the area. According to the display information, it is a Mesquite (Prosopis juliflora, french: Bayahonde). (642k)

Fauna

Mating tortoises. The big one tried to dislodge the mating male. (1029k)
